PREMIER (originally Northcom) was originally created as a cost saving source for telephones, key systems, and other voice peripherals for the phone company they were a part of. The original source for these products had a corner on the market, and therefore pricing, and leadership decided to create their own sourcing and production of an in-house brand. They worked with factories overseas to produce the most economical solutions possible for the phone company. PREMIER then branched out into other commodity products based on their success with telephone equipment.
The PREMIER brand was established in 1982 as a source for high-quality commodity products for service providers and installers, at the most competitive prices on the market. The brand’s comprehensive portfolio of more than 2,100 unique items ranges from broadband coax products, voice products, data products, wire and cable materials, customer premise equipment, outside plant tools and materials and personal protective equipment.
The advantage of PREMIER starts with broad and established partnerships with manufacturers worldwide, as well as vast product development capabilities to manufacturer new products according to specifications. While the PREMIER sourcing pipeline extends worldwide, over 80% of PREMIER products are manufactured within the United States and are Rural Utilities System compliant.
Plus, PREMIER has the flexibility to source new products to meet individual needs of form, fit, and function for our customers. This concept was realized in 2020 when PREMIER developed an expanded line of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to help meet the massive demand for PPE brought on by COVID-19 and has delivered over 1.1 million bottles of hand sanitizer and over 50 million gloves to its customers.
